In this film, Jarman combines elements from three of his Super-8 movies – Journey to Avebury (1971), Tarot(aka The Magician) (1972) and Fire Island (1974). The ensuing work contains several of the themes and motifs common to Jarman’s films – magic, ritual, mirrors, fire, and dance. Throbbing Gristle created the soundtrack in 1980, the same year that the film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival.
