A film by Eduardo Villanueva
Shot in the twilight hours between daylight and darkness, this portrait of an elderly couple living in rural Mexico synthesizes documentary and narrative styles. The focus is on the quotidian aspects of the old man’s life, but his daily acts of setting traps for wild animals and searching for medicinal plants bring him into contact with the ghosts and spirits of the forest, and these too comprise a significant part of his reality. This will be the U.S. premiere of the film.
