This teen film has achieved cult status for its sensitive depiction of alienated junior high school kids and their materialistic parents. Based on an article that appeared in the San Francisco Examiner in 1973 about juvenile delinquency in the planned community of Foster City, California, OVER THE EDGE stars Matt Dillon in his feature film debut and is driven by an iconic soundtrack with songs by Cheap Trick, Van Halen, The Cars, and The Ramones. with Michael Eric Kramer, Matt Dillon, Pamela Ludwig, and Vincent Spano.
