TULSA Saturday 5/7 @ 4:00 pm 1968, 16mm, b/w, silent, 64 minutes
Directed by Larry Clark

This 16mm film reel was only very recently discovered by the artist, and is being shown here for the second time in the US and for the first time as a 16mm projection.  Made in Tulsa in 1968, Billy Mann and others from Clark’s seminal 1971 book, Tulsa, come to life in this 16mm black and white film footage.  Much like the iconic photographs, the footage offers a glimpse into the group’s daily rituals.  Clark shot the film on a rented Bolex camera and the film demonstrates his early interest in narrative filmmaking and directing.  This screening will be followed by a Q & A with Larry Clark. For mature audiences only.  No one under 18 will be admitted. Courtesy of Larry Clark and Luhring Augustine, NY
